August 2021 Riding my local lanes in the sunshine. |
|
July 2021 Riding Blue on trails, and through some local villages in the sunshine... |
|
June 2021 Out on Blue around Beds, and Cambs in the sunshine. I have owned this bike for 10 years now. I have paid the road tax, renewed the insurance, and she passed the MOT! |
|
May 2021 Green is sold, and collected. I still have Blue, which now has the top box baseplate back on again as I kept that. I’ve been out for a couple of trail rides on Blue in the sunshine. |
November 2020 I was riding into town on Green in when I thought things are getting a bit wobbly looked down at the front wheel, and it was almost flat. So I wobbled home. I’ve taken the wheel off had a new tube fitted, and wheel is back in Green all ready to ride. |
|
|
September 2020 Green has “clicked” over 10,000 miles. I’ve been out on all the bikes, but mostly just into town for coffee, or library… It feels like autumn now in the UK, the clocks have changed, and also Covid-19 cases are rising sharply again so I won’t be riding much in the next 6 months. |
|
September 2020 I had a little trail ride on Blue in the sunshine. I did a bit of recycling, upcycling whatever you want to call it when I noticed this plastic tray being thrown away. |
|
August 2020 I had a short trail ride on Blue, and a coffee to. |
|
August 2020 I went for a longer ride than usual on Green, and rode some lanes I had never ridden before near Silverstone village. I didn’t see a bull in the field like the sign on the right shows, but I did see some people walking with llamas. One of the lanes I wanted to try was shut by the local authority so will give it a go another time. |
|
August 2020 I got a new seat cover for Green. I have only ridden it for about 10 minutes so far since fitting the seat cover, but hopefully it will be more comfortable to ride further? |
|
August 2020 I have been trail riding on Blue again mostly on trails I know well, but did throw in one new one I found on a TRF route. Also I ordered a new OS map covering the area around Silverstone as there are a couple of lanes up that way I want to try for the first time. |
|
July 2020 I took Blue out for a short trail ride in the sunshine. Green has had the new fork gaiters fitted, and a new bash plate. |
|
June 2020 Last week Green had a service, and then I took her out for a little local trail ride before the rains came. The tree in the photo was supposed to be gone. A few more snaps here. |
|
June 2020 Blue is back from service, & passed the MOT (safety test.) I got Green back from service, and she passed the MOT, but when I got home I noticed one of the fork gaiters had split so I have ordered some new ones, which have arrived. Spending, but ticking things off “the list!” |
|
June 2020 I took Blue out for a bit more trail riding in the sunshine. A few more snaps here. Now that places are starting to open up for business again following Covid-19 I have booked both Yamaha's in for service, and I ordered a bash plate for Green.
|
|
May 2020 I took Blue out for a trail ride in the sunshine, which I enjoyed although I encountered a fallen tree, and some locked gates, which I have e-mailed to the local council. A few more snaps here. |
|
May 2020 I had a lovely ride about on Blue in the sunshine now we are allowed out of lock down in the UK. A few more snaps here. |
|
April 2020 With the UK in “lockdown” I've not been able to do anything with the bikes apart from start them up from time to time March 2020 The top box is fitted to Green, and therefore removed from Blue. |
|
March 2020 Finally the rack is fitted to Green! |
|
February 2020 I rode Green into town for some bits, and bobs then on to Boyd's of Bedford for a coffee, & a warm up. Still not fitted the rack. |
|
January 2020 I got bored of waiting for my free rack to arrive for Green so bought a bright blue rack from the USA. Supposed to be easy to fit, but we shall see? |
|
October 2019 I have had a little ride about on Green. It was greasy as we had a bit of rain overnight. |
|
October 2019 I had a bit of a local ride about on Blue, and was amused to see this helicopter parked in somebody's front garden. |
September 2019 I had another trail ride on Blue, and the same day rode Green to the Oakley Motorcycle Club. I downloaded a free app to check the speedo's on both bikes against GPS, and was not surprised to see that Blue under reads by 10 to 15%, and Green over reads by about the same. E.G. Green when it shows 82mph on the speedo is actually only doing 66mph. |
|
|
September
2019 I had a trail ride on Blue. Whilst out and about
I came across a photo shoot for a brand new Dallara Stradale
worth about £200,000? |
|
September 2019 I rode Blue to a local bike meet last Sunday. I've not been riding Blue much, and I might sell at the end of the summer? I still enjoy the bike, and don't need to sell, but of the three bikes I have this is used the least. |
|
July 2019 I took Green for a bit of a ride around, and included the lane on the left for the first time. Nice little lane that I have never bothered with before as it is not close to anything I usually ride. |
|
May 2019 I had a ride about on Green, and on the way home popped into a garden centre where I spotted these giraffes, a zebra... |
|
February
2019 I fitted the new top box to Blue. |
|
February 2019 I still don't have the rack for Green, but I bought a new top box anyway. I think I will mount this on Blue for now, & then when I have the new rack in hand I will get a spare base plate so that I can use the top box on either bike. |
|
October 2018 I have been offered a free rack for Green. Fingers crossed it turns up soon, and is OK? I'm thinking of getting a top box to go on it for shopping then remove it for trail riding? Blue is fixed I gave in and took it to Scorpio Racing where they cleaned the gunk out of the carb, and it is now running great. |
|
September 2018 Another ride on Green in the sunshine, and this time no puncture, breakdown, or crash! Blue is being naughty as she starts, but won't idle. I assume it is just a blocked idle jet, but have not got around to looking into it yet. |
|
September 2018 I was having another lovely ride on Green, but then got a puncture! |
|
September 2018 I had an enjoyable trail ride on Green, and a quick one on Blue. However, Blue is being naughty as I cannot get the petrol cap off, and therefore cannot add fuel AND she won't idle. I assume the pilot jet is blocked, or maybe she is just low on fuel? Update I managed to get the petrol cap off then added some fuel, but she still won't idle so I assume the idle jet is indeed blocked. Another job to add to the list! |
|
July 2018 Both Serow have been for service, and I have been trail riding on Green several times without breaking down! Don't appear to be using Blue much maybe I should sell? |
|
June
2018 I
had a little ride on Green,
and didn't need recovery to get us home! See left, and a few
more here. |
|
May 2018 Making slow progress with Green. I bought a pattern regulator / rectifier and fitted it but the bike is still not charging the battery. Green is booked in next week for a professional to have a look at it. Update It was just corroded wiring, and fixed in under an hour! Plus the number plate was cracking so I ordered, and fitted a new one. This one is metal so should be a bit more robust! As usual Blue is running fine. |
|
April
2018 Not enjoyable was breaking down on Green, and
waiting ages for recovery. I think the regulator / rectifier may
have failed, or the stator as the bike is not charging the
battery! |
|
March 2018 Short trail ride on Blue just did a couple of the local lanes, and went into town for coffee. A few snaps here. |
|
March
2018 Not much to report I've been riding Blue
occasionally, but just into town... |
|
December 2017 Not ridden much recently, but I did have a little chug about on Green, and gave her a quick jet wash. See left before, and after. |
|
November
2017 I popped down to see the HAV Airlander 10 in the
sunshine on Green. |
|
October
2017 Me
and my chum took out both Serow for a chug about. See
left. |
|
August 2017 Recently out on Green for a solo trail ride. Snaps here. August 2017 Previously, I had a short, but enjoyed trail ride with my mate M on Green. |
|
|
|
July 2017 I had a short but enjoyable ride on Blue recently. |
July 2017 I had a short but enjoyable ride on Blue. A few snaps here. |
|
June
2017 Both
Serow passed the MOT (UK safety check) this week. The only work
required was that Green
needed
a new tail light bulb, which I sourced, & fixed myself. |
|
|
May 2017 Trail riding on Green today in the sunshine (see left.)
An enjoyable trail ride on Blue see near left, and a few snaps here. |
|
April 2017 Green is all back together, and I have been riding all the bikes. On the left a little trail ride on Green. A few more snaps here. |
|
March
2017 I
got Green
out
to ride, but it had a punctured front tyre so as I had some
spare time I took the front wheel off, and have dropped it off
to get some duff spokes fixed, and a new inner tube. Plus I took
the front calliper off, and sent that away for rebuilding as it
had been dragging. Just waiting for all the bits to come back,
and refit them. |
|
October
2016 I
had a trail ride on Blue
and
my mate K rode Green
for
his first day trail riding plus another friend M on his Beta in
the late October sunshine. |
|
October 2016 I've ridden both bikes in the last three days mostly just about town, but I did ride Green on trail on Monday on trails I know well. I hope I can get out on the bikes some more this Autumn before I go into hibernation mode. |
|
September
2016 I
attended the Super
Sausage Classic
Suzuki Sunday but
I snuck in on Green,
which is a Yamaha! Snaps here.
|
|
August
2016 I had a little ride about Bedfordshire on Green
(see left.) |
|
August
2016 I've
been down to see the HAV
Airlander 10 several times including a visit on Green.
A
few snaps here. |
|
July
2016 Gree
n
is
back from a service, and I thought was running great so I went
on a TRF midweek ride today. I
had a little off, and she let me down not starting when hot :( I
need to get to the bottom of this! A few snaps here.
|
|
May
2016 I
had a trail ride on Green
with
a few of the local TRF
members. Snaps here. |
|
May 2016 I have been riding all the bikes as we have finally had some warm dry weather in the UK. A few pictures of trail riding today here, and last Tuesday here. |
|
April
2016 I
had a nice morning trail riding on Green
on
Tuesday, and lunch stop at Emily's Tea Shop in Whitwell, but
then got a puncture, and wasted most of the afternoon sorting
out a new inner tube... Some snaps here. |
|
April
2016 Riding
Blue
in
the sunshine. I had some bits, & bobs to do in town then
Flitwick
Motorcycles to buy some new Weise trousers, and a bit of a
trail ride to. A few snaps here. |
|
December
2015 It
has been mild if at times wet, and windy so far this winter in
the UK so I have been able to get out on all the bikes at times,
although nothing photo worthy. |
|
October
2015 Another
trail ride on Green
this
time with a couple of mates around North Bedfordshire, &
Cambridgeshire in the sunshine. I'm getting used to the new
Maxxis IT
tyres,
but Greenis
still being naughty, and not starting first time on the button
every time, although with patience it will start eventually
fingers crossed. |
|
October
2015 I
have been out riding Green
on
trail, and I went to Torque
Racing Services open day where I ordered some new Maxxis IT
tyres.
I took some snaps, which you can see here. |
|
October
2015 I
hadn't ridden Blue
for
over a week so thought I would ride it to work, and another
puncture! This time the front, but I was close to home so was
able to wobble back. I took it into Bedford
Wheels, and they found a thorn had gone through tyre, and
inner tube so that is fixed now. Just got to put the wheel back
in the bike. Oh and I noticed the heated grips are not working
so that needs looking into. Hopefully just a lose
connection? |
|
September 2015 Last week I had a trail ride on Blue in the sunshine, and fingers crossed I have now fixed Green. |
|
September
2015 I
have been on a ride on Blue
to
Village
at War event at Stoke Bruerne, but got a puncture on the way
home so will be sorting that this week, and Green
is
still waiting for a new starter relay. Update
Blue
has
a new inner tube, and is running fine. |
|
August 2015 Blue is running fine but Green has been naughty not starting so I bought a new battery, which I fitted, and the bike still does not start. I'm going to try a new starter relay next as the one in the bike is very corroded. |
|
July 2015 I had my first trail ride on Green some snaps here. Still happy with it, although it would not start until the battery had a quick charge so that will need replacing at some point. The seller did tell me he had not changed it so no surprise really. |
|
July 2015 I went to the Oakley Carnival on Green. Still happy with Green, although I have noticed that one indicator does not work. It will need to be fixed some time. |
|
July
2015 I have bought another Yamaha
Serow this time a 2007 250cc bike built in Japan. I have had a
few short rides on it, and am happy with it. It is very tatty,
but was cheap for the UK, and appears to be running fine fingers
crossed. I will sell Blue
eventually, but no rush. I'm going to be predictable and call
this one Green
. |
|
June 2015 I volunteered to help out at an event at the College Equestrian Centre near Keysoe. This was arranged through the TRF as a bit of bridge building... I only did the afternoon but had fun riding around the cross country track picking up score cards and dropping them off at the main centre. It is all private land, and an area I would not normally be allowed on to especially on the bike! |
|
June
2015 Blue
passed
the annual MOT (UK safety check.) I took her to DoubleO
Motorcycles for the first time as I had a cut price
coupon. |
|
June 2015 I went on a trail ride with the TRF, which I enjoyed. Picked up a couple of lanes I had not ridden before. On the way back I did this lane on my own that I have ridden only once before. It is a dead end due to the footbridge over the railway. |

May
2015 Big news from
now on at my request I'm only working 4 days/week, which makes
me happy. More days off for fun in the sun, and typically it is
raining today! Oh well gives me time to update this, Facebook,
and push the Dyson
round
the house... I might go mad and actually "cook"
something today? |
|
May 2015 Recently I had a quick look at the Rushden Cavalcade followed by a solo trail ride on Blue. |
April 2015 Recently I rode Blue to a local free bike show, and took a few pic's, which you can see here. Then I went for a short trail ride, and later a coffee in town with friends. Blue is now running fine with a new front Pirelli MT21 Rallycross plus a new inner tube. |
|
|
April
2015 I
got Blue
out
for a ride on Easter Monday, and the front tire was flat. As it
was a bank holiday there was not much I could do about it, but I
dropped it off at Bedford
Wheels . Some of the knobblies look worn down so I'm getting
a new Pirelli MT21 Rallycross to match the rear. |
|
December
2014 I
paid Jamie at Two
Wheels Better to fit the Keis
heated
grips I got ages ago to Blue.
I've only had one brief test ride since but happy with them so
far. |
|
November
2014 I have not ridden Blue
much recently but did ride it around town for a few jobs, and
then to work. Plus one day the week before that I rode it to
work. However, it is running fine and starting first
time. |
|
September
2014 I had a trail ride on Blue mostly on lanes I
know, and I tried a couple of others that were closed, but then
did get on three easy trails I had not ridden before. On the
left I didn't take much notice of the sign, which says something
about the trail being 1.25 miles but pedestrians, and cyclists
only after 1 mile. As a result after 1 mile I came to a
footbridge over a railway line, and had to turn back. |
![]() |
September
2014 I
went on a trail ride with the TRF
a bit of a slow start to the day, but once we got going I much
enjoyed the day. Lots of trails new to me as we were riding in
an area I don't know that well. Blue
was
faultless as usual. |
|
August 2014 Today I went for a little trail ride on Blue, which I much enjoyed. It was mostly on trails I know, but I did discover an extra one I must have missed previously. I stopped at the Silver Ball Café for a cup of tea. I took a few snaps, which you can see here. |
|
July
2014 Recently I went for a trail ride on Blue, which
I much enjoyed. We just rode the local lanes, but it was good to
be out and about again in the sunshine. On the left think we are
discussing where we are going next? |
|
July
2014 I
have been riding Blue,
but nothing "exciting" just work, shopping... However,
I am going trail riding on Tuesday so should be some pic's to
upload after that. The bike is certainly starting better with
the new battery. Even after a week or so it fires up first time.
|
|
June 2014 Last weekend I rode Bluedown to La Piazza where I had coffee, and met up with a few other bikers for a chug around the Bedfordshire back roads. Only did about 30 miles all on tarmac, but it was a nice sunny day so all good. We stopped at The Jackal for a drink, comfort break, and more chat. Plus I've ridden Blue to work a couple of times, into town, and the Oakley Motorcycle Club once as I got off work early one Thursday. |
|
May 2014 Recently I rode Blue for another trail ride with my mate Mark, and another guy Paul. We have stopped for coffee at the Market Café in St. Neots. Generally good ride although Mark and I somehow managed to have synchronised crashes on an easy trail, but nobody hurt or anything broken so no problem. There's a video of our crashes here. |
![]() |
April
2014 I
rode Blue,
which
is now fixed, for a trail ride with my mate Mark on his Honda.
We rode almost 100 miles of which maybe 10 was off tarmac? See
left and some more pictures here.
It took a new front tube (the old one had perished,) plus a new
fuse, and all was well again, & not too expensive
either. |
|
March 2014 On another lovely day in England I had a coffee at La Piazza in Bedford then a B roads ride to Wollaston BMW for a free coffee and a test ride of the R nineT, which I enjoyed, but not enough to order one. Some snaps here. |
|
March
2014 Last
Sunday on the best day of the year so far for weather I had a
coffee at La Piazza in Bedford followed by a trail ride with a
mate over towards Royston, and we had a tea break at the Silver
Ball. We went on trails I knew apart from one short trail I'd
not been on previously. Several of the trails were new to my
mate. Some snaps here. |
|
February 2014 I rode Blue for a bit of a B road ride around North Bedfordshire in early February. She started first time, and was faultless including riding twice through 6 inches of water on The Causeway between Carlton, and Harrold villages. |
|
January
2014 I have ridden Blue a couple of times recently,
but only into town, work, or a coffee. Typical winter weather
here in the UK either mild and wet or cold and dry. |
|
November 2013 I bought but have not yet fitted a couple of lever covers. Also I might get heated grips as well? I need some warmer weather so that I can ride over to see the guy and get them fitted, or maybe wait until the spring? |
|
October
2013 I
have ridden Blue
into
town and to work a couple of times recently as it has been mild
between the showers, and rain other than that I still appear to
be riding Red
more. Anyway most of the local green lanes are now shut until
1st May so will not be much to report for awhile? |
|
August
2013 Thursday
I rode Blue
to
"Yamaha Night" at the Oakley
Motorcycle Club. |
|
August 2013 I've treated myself to a white Strada Sting helmet. It's an off road style helmet that I have worn for trail riding last week, and I'm happy with it. Riding Blue it was a bit slippery as we have had a couple of weeks of great weather in the UK, but it rained the night before our trail ride. |
July 2013 I went on Blue to Ton Up Day at Jacks Hill Cafe. I enjoyed that but it was very hot so then went for a little ride around Silverstone where they had European F3 car racing, but we didn't stop long. After a bit more cruising around we had a drink at Box End Park then home. |
|
|
July 2013 The previous Friday I had a ride about on Blue to the Yamaha dealer in Northants first so that M could get his bike serviced. While we were waiting we walked over to Northants V Twin to have a look and a cuppa. When M's bike was ready we rode over to Sywell Aerodrome for a coffee. They had the UK Acrobatics championship on so we could watch the planes making great moves in the sky. Next we went to the J&S Outlet near Finedon to look at the gear, but didn't buy any then home. I think we did about 90 miles including getting lost looking for the J&S Outlet as I'd never been there before. |
|
June 2013 Recently I rode Blue on a trail ride with my buddy Mark around Cambridgeshire, Northants, & North Beds in the sunshine. We were out and about for 5 hours and did about 90 miles. We did stop for a coffee in Oundle, and I had a cream tea at The Kiosk on the way home. A few snaps here. We spotted loads of red kites in particular around the Oundle area which appears to be a hot spot for them for some reason. |
|
June
2013 Recently
I had another ride with M on Blue
where
we rode around a lot of B roads over towards Colmworth, Eaton
Socon... Then a coffee stop at Danish
Camp, which surprisingly I've never been to before even
though it is not far from my home. Whilst over near Blunham we
had a good view of a red kite. |
|
June
2013 I
went to Motorama
local
charity car and bike show at Olney . I've been to this before so
had seen some of the cars in the past, but still plenty to see.
I've loaded loads of snaps here.
As a bonus there was a drive in of almost 50 model T Fords.
Whilst there I had a coffee in Beans
and also had a first look around The
Cowper and Newton Museum. |
|
June
2013 I
had another ride about on Blue
with
M where we had a coffee at Dunstable
Downs Visitor Centre, and then a quick stop at the Triumph
dealer in Woburn before work and in the sunshine. |
|
I got the month off to a good start with a B road ride on Blue before work that included a stop for coffee at Tea-Zels Café at Harrold-Odell Country Park. I have been to the park a few times but don't think I've been in the very pleasant café before? This was with the new rider M I've mentioned before. |
|
May
2013 On
Bank Holiday Monday I went for another trail ride on Blue
mostly
on trails I know, but I did go on one I've been trying to get on
for three years, but it has always been closed for "repairs."
Anyway
cracking little trail and I was pleased to see a couple of deer.
|
|
May
2013 I
have been out and about on Blue
during
the UK Bank holiday weekend as for once I was on rest days &
the weather was good! |
